Esteban has played in over 710 PGA tournaments throughout his 27-year career and accumulated more than any other Mexican golfer in money list wins. Esteban is at the peak of his career as he has won four events in the last four years and finished in the Top 10, 19 times.

Esteban was a member of the PGA Tour in 1994 and 1998–2004 and has also spent many years playing on the the Ben Hogan Tour, Nike tour, Nation Wide tour, and Web.com Tour. He currently plays in the PGA Tour Champions and the the European Senior Tour.
